Terms of Service

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and GolfHopper (the trading name of the operator of golfhopper.co.uk). By browsing the site or creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use GolfHopper. Questions can be sent to info@golfhopper.co.uk.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
  • You must give an accurate email address and keep your password confidential.
  • You are responsible for everything done through your account.
  • One person, one account. Accounts created to inflate ratings or leaderboards may be removed.

3. Reviews and community conduct

GolfHopper only works if ratings are honest. There are no paid-for reviews here.

  • Only rate and review courses you have genuinely played.
  • Reviews must be your own honest opinion and must not be defamatory or knowingly false.
  • Do not post content that is abusive, offensive, discriminatory, harassing or unlawful — this applies to reviews, usernames, group names and group descriptions.
  • Do not attempt to manipulate rankings, badges or leaderboards, or to scrape, disrupt or reverse engineer the site.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach these rules. If you spot something that should not be here, email us and we will review it.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the reviews, ratings and other content you post. By posting it, you grant GolfHopper a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, aggregate and share that content on the platform — for example on course pages, county pages, the GolfHopper Top 25 and activity feeds — and in anonymised or aggregated statistics, including statistics we share with sponsors, advertisers and commercial partners. These statistics never include your personal contact details. You confirm you have the right to post whatever you upload.

5. Our content

The GolfHopper name, logo, badge and challenge artwork, page designs, curated challenges and the compiled course directory are owned by us or our licensors and may not be copied or reused commercially without permission. Course rankings referenced from third parties remain the property of their publishers.

6. Course information

Course details — including addresses, contact details, hole counts, county union affiliations, course type and rankings — are provided for general information and are compiled from public sources. They may be out of date or incomplete. Always check directly with the club for tee times, green fees, visitor policies, dress codes and course status before travelling.

7. Availability and liability

GolfHopper is provided “as is” and free of charge. We do not guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted, error free, or that all information is accurate. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for wasted travel, club closures, booking problems, or the content of third-party websites we link to. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

8. Suspension and termination

You can close your account at any time by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, or withdraw the service entirely, giving notice where reasonably possible.

9. Privacy

Our Privacy & Cookie Policy explains how we handle your personal data and forms part of these terms.

10. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest revision, and continued use means you accept the updated terms. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
